Preparing for CAE (C1)

The best place to start for those of you preparing for CAE is this page , which tells you all you need to know about the format of the exam.  Cambridge also have a lot of advice on how to prepare for each paper here .  Paper 1 is the combined R eading and Use of English section, which has 8 parts in all. You can find lots of practice materials for this paper on the Flo Joe website . Preparing for FCE (B2)

Preparing for PET (B1)

Are you taking your PET exam this year?  If so, you can see everything you'll need to do during the exam  on this website or by reading this .  From 2020, there will be four papers in your exam.  The first one, Reading , has six parts, 32 questions and lasts for 45 minutes.  In the first part, you'll have to read five short messages, notices or texts and then choose the correct answer (A, B or C) .   In part two, you need to read information about five different people and then match each person to the correct text .  To do this, you'll need to read carefully to find out what the people want to do or are interested in.  Part three is one long text with five questions.  Each question has four options (A-D) .  You'll need to understand the information in the text and also the writer's opinion.   Part 4 is a gapped text .  Five sentences have been removed from the text you read and you have eight options to choose from.  Remember to read the whole text first - thi

Preparing for KET (A2)

Are you taking KET in 2020?  If so, click here to see what you'll need to do in the exam .  Remember that the first paper is reading and writing .  It has seven parts and you have 60 minutes to finish everything.  In part one, you have to read six short texts and choose the sentence with the same meaning from the three choices below.   You can do more practice  here ,  here and  here. In the second part, you read three texts on the same topic and then match the questions to the correct text.   Before you look at the questions, make sure you read the texts and think about the similarities and differences between the three people.   In part three, you read one long text and answer 5 questions .   Part four also has one text but this time you need to choose the correct word to complete the gaps.  Remember to read very carefully before and after each gap!   Part five is very similar.  However, there's no help so you have to think of the word by yourself :  Hi Airam, We&#
